About
The Las Vegas Valley has been under drought alert since January 2004. If Lake Meads conditions continue to drop we will go to drought emergency. This small stream is from some rainfall we had, but didn't last. Photo 11/30/04.
Yes, the Pecos is a huge area of concern here especially as erosion becomes more and more prevalent. I just remembered that you took the photo in Las Vegas and I put two and two together. Thanks for adding me as a friend. I shall do likewise.
Ya, drought is pretty interesting...as people continue to waste. I am very aware of the NM drought. I have pictures of the Pecos River when it was actually a river. It was one of my first shots which is now framed & mounted on my wall. The last time I was there, the Pecos was just a trickle of water.
About the rocks in this shot, the summer sun here is just too much. There is no more adjustment to the rocks, it is gone:( Carla
If, in fact, you are trying to demonstrate something by this picture, I am in full agreement with your statement. Here in NM, as most already know, drought is a big deal. We're starting to pull out of it, but we never will until people reduce their consumption and start thinking about it. I like the shot a lot. I might tone it down just a notch to get a little more detail on the top of the rocks. Keep it up!
