With all the recent negative news regarding Bonds, Giambi and the other dishonest players abusing steroids here's a reminder of what the game is really all about. Taken at Safeco Field in Seattle in 2001 during Ichiro's rookie season and Cal Ripken, Jr's last season. Constructive criticism appreciated. Thanks.
Love the photo and the title. Ripken is my all time sports hero, for both his on-field and off-field accomplishments. I can't claim to be as familiar with Ichiro (grew up in Maryland), but from what I have seen I like the way he plays the game, with a lot of hustle. A great shot of the old guard with the new generation. I think I'll pop in my tape of the games when Cal tied and then broke the consecutive games streak. Thanks.
Being from Baltimore, there was no better person on or off the field than Cal. I think this is a great capture of two really good players. It shows the best of great talents old and young. Since all of the negativity on baseball lately, at least you have these memories of when the game was still good. Great Job!!!
Very nice picture. You captured a legend with one in the making. One class act is passing the torch to the next. I don't think we'll find Ichiro's name on the list of players who use steroids (I sure hope not, it would really shatter my perspective that there are still good, honest players out there), but I think most of the names would be no suprise if we were to run down the list of steroid users.
This is a awesome shot, Love baseball, Ripken is a class act, Ichiro also carries himself well. nice moment, good colors and detail, as far as bonds and company being dishonest, well Many of the big sluggers like Mcguire, Sosa etc used steriods, This is not new news, and can your really abuse steriods, you either use them or you dont, I live in san francisco, and balco's list is a lot longer then many are led to believe, Including sheff, griffey jr. there are like 100 players, dont be supprise if Ichiro's name pops up sometime in the future, no one is beyond It........
