About my nightrides are usually single shot images, meaning that i expose just one frame for several minutes without bracketing or shooting alternatives. last week was the first time i wasted so many frames on the same composition, during a short ride in 'Attiki Odos' which is the best and most modern highspeed street in Athens. the exposure time was so short (15-20secs) that let me click the shutter many times,a thing that would be absolutely normal if i had a digital but unfortunately is rather costly for an amateur in a budget. well, i uploaded one of those pics yesterday and a lot of people liked it, but i am not so enthusiastic about it - ok,the effect is nice but it's not that creative... i think it resembles most similar pictures taken in streets or tunnels. anyway, if i didn't like it i wouldn't post it ,right? so,here are all the photos i took that night, including another one of the driver taken after he took his camera inside the pug ;-)

Hey Kostas,

Might be an oversight on my part, but I haven't seen you around in quite some time.... Good to hear from you...

I've been following your nightrides series, and eventhough it ended in a tragedy, I find the lot extremely impressive. Very difficult to find a new and refreshing angle, think you covered them all. But it's inspirational for sure. hyper-dynamic...

Cheers,

hugo

PS: I relate to Mike's sentiments... jealousy galore!

what i got from my reflection wasn't what i thought i'd see. do you see it on my face, that all i can think about is how long i've been waiting for faith to move me. close my eyes and hold on tight, brace my heart and hold tight. change this something normal into something beautiful. and i still pray that when you stare back down into my eyes, that you'd see something beauiful - this song and this picture go well together, kt.

Kosta, this presentation is top-notch, professional quality. One of the best I've seen on UseFilm so far. Very well done.

oh... dear Kosta... after seeing your lovely Pug ruined, this photo looks like an odd sinister joke... still shocked from what i've seen a while ago (i know about car accidents and its not smt easy to overcome) i'll keep this one as a beautiful memory... take care... emy

Well, yes, but the butterfly photo is completely different - to me, anyway :-) It's more like an abstract painting, the car is not very recognizable.
The small photo in the collage has, for want of a better expression, more objective reality. The situation and context are very clear ('reality'), and the exterior point of view from which your own car is visible makes it seem like the viewer is following both cars rather than you the author following a single car ('objective'). Another notable difference is that I perceive 'drunken butterfly' as a static image, whereas the feeling I get here is that of a short movie sequence :-)

Hi Kostas,
it's nice to be able to compare so many variants of the same shot, with the fundamentals being the same, but the details different in each shot.
The two which I find most interesting are the bottom right corner (because of the intertwining light trails) and the one to the left of that (because of the relatively clear presence of the other car, something that I've not noticed in your previous nightrides).

Superb idea & execution, this can easily be the front cover of a magazine or poster, (ok, if it didn't have the driver!). well done, especially the colour is captivating and mood - inspiring

Very nice idea!
Maybe the inner image does not convey the same dynamical mood as the outer ones.
Although I liked it a lot!

ciao!

Oh S**T.

Rock beats scissors.

I am unable to compete with this mighty composition. My mind is almost blown away by the wonderful progression of the frames.

Best of all, I think I can actually make you out for a change...

I was not able to stabilize my camera very well against the 100 kph wind + weather, but I actually got some passable photos from the car cam. Please stop by if you have the time. Keep in mind my equipment cost is about $3 US ($2 in duct tape).

I know this has been done many times before, but I never get tired of seeing these pictures. Your very good at. I would be afraid to try this because I'm not as experienced at these pictures and it costs a lot of money when using film.
