Ray,

Yes, I do shoot in raw format and usually wind up adjusting in PS.

Because his mood is more somber and the day was foggy, damp and overcast, I wanted to communicate that darker feeling.

Nice pic. Bill - could do with being a little lighter. Do you shoot in RAW format as I do? I am finding that my D30 seems to underexpose by about 1 stop in RAW format on many pics. (particularly those with difficult lighting conditions such as this) needing to adjust the levels in PS on all "normally" exposed pics. This is getting a little frustrating when trying to experiment with studio lighting but will do some test chart shots to test the theory/settings.
Anyhow, being a people pic. snapper myself, I really like this.
