Hi Michael, This is one of the places I hope to visit someday. The grain is not too bad, but I do think some of the details have gotten lost in the scan; the contrast is rather fierce, removing the details in the shadowy parts. Can't really comment on that, as my scans are much, much worse than this (Not even sure I dare to compare...)
A nice shot, but IMO, it lacks a bit of tension; something to make me ponder over, and to tickle the imagination.... The shot says it all. I have a distinct feeling something's missing in this shot.
Not withstanding quality of the shot, which is rather good, I think adding a few elements in front, creating more than the current two levels of distance in this shot might work. It's one of the reasons I try to include one or two people in most of my shots. The colour depth is very good, though. It adds some warmth to the image, which I'm always fond of.
