About Taken from my 5th floor window. Sun was setting.. taken through a glass.. distortion comes from that (which is the point). Abstract work. Hope you like it! =)

Honest comments are welcome!!

Ps. I havent had to much time for UF lately.. therefore not alot of comments.. but i hope to get back on track soon! =)

Cheers

Wow...this one catch my eye, just because of the decisive moment. wonderful shot.the focus is abit distract. and also as light expose, could be better, however i know that it is difficult to have balanced mood in this hard position.

Love it! Love the shadows. The light on the cyclist and the shadow cast by him is just perfect.

Patrick,
I love this one. Very atmospheric. You seem to get some great shots from your window! I think the lampshade in te right side is a nice touch!
I've been busy too. Its amazing, if you miss a few days its hard to catch up with all the new photos!
regards,
Omar

Patrick Jacobson   {K:29151} 11/6/2004
It came from a glass.. i took it inside a window... and the window was skew and gave it distortions all over.. after 2-3 shots i opened the window and took the one without distortion! I liked this one much though so i used the distortion for the title and for the effect! =)

Cheers

the compo & light/shadow is EXCELLENT! but I think its pity because of the distortion.....is it really from the glass or maybe from a longer shutter-speed?

Ciao, Pia :)

Excellent catch - the rider is in the perfect position - the only thing that distracts my eye is the light on the right side - but that's only me talking - excellent image . K

patrick, love seeing this street corner again, those lovely dark shadows and the swathe of light that illuminates tha back of the cyclist and creates the long shadow of him. We'll all have to wave if we walk past this corner in the future. Also that tiny bit of light that is reflecting off the street lamp and its structure is beautiful.

Good, but I love the other from the series Patrick. The other has that *life* feel that most people find so hard to convey or even explain. This is darker and more melancholy, good, but the other is great.

Pretty cool! Don't care for the white lamp, but this is just extraordinary, the way you have caught the bicyclist just at the right moment in the light, and the shadow adding a cool effect. Really amazing!

Thank you Arwa my friend for your fine comment! =) Im not sure it could take more cropping as ive already cropped abit... could have worked perhaps! I wanted the light to get more white into the picture and to enchance the feeling of the photo being taken from high above! =)) Thanks for your thoughts and ideas!!

Cheers

Nice abstract Patrick, like the lighting and shadow of the man and his bike, the bricks of the street and the pedestrian lines are wonderful in the light ray. The street lamp on the right side adds to the mood of the picture, good work my friend, regards,
Khaled.

Absolutely beautiful!
brilliant night/ dusk image great use of shadows to enhance the drama and the structure of the whole image
I like the distortion and blur its different
Glad u turned it into black and whit it looks very dramatic this way :)
Maybe it would look even better if u cropped it from the right side or cloned out the white street light?
Excellent work as usual ;)

You'll be watching that corner a lot now, now that you see what amazing shadows it can produce. This is the same corner with the couple walking before? Very nice shadow detail.

Great shot, the ray of light make a sort of spot on the man and his byke and the shadows. The distortion give a dream style.

Also this one is excellent. The late sun effect with this long shadow is something I like, it gives a special feeling. Nice work Patrick.

Patrick, we all have busy times, so we understand. Looks like you have an active street corner. Sleepy at times but it does attract a lot of different characters in life. The shadows given at that time of the day are perfect for this style of photography. The curving lines of the footpath add a new dimension to the overall image. Well done. You should be proud of this series of shots.

Keep smiling.
