Thank you for this one, Judi. Van Gogh is my favorite painter. This past spring, a local art museum hosted an exhibition of his works and we stood in awe, just inches from masterpieces I'd only seen before in books, probably a once-in-a-lifetime event. I think Vincent would approve of your tribute here. I would change nothing about this image. Kurt

Thanks Brad. Yes it is stark, but I aimed for an abstract style. Any other colour would have done the painting an injustice.

LOL Larry. It is quite surprising to people when they see it in person. You can see it towering over local buildings and draws attention to itself.

Creative abstract. I feel like the white sky/background is a bit bright for this image.

LOL Sergio. It's a beautiful painting but the size and the surroundings made it difficult to get it at a good angle that did it justice. That's why I felt removing the background made the viewers eye concentrate on the structure while the boliage sofftened the harsh lines.
By keeping the colour to a minimum, except in the painting itself it highlighted the subject and not the surroundings.

Thankyou. I felt the painting needed something natural to break from the hard lines. I had to get quite low to utilize the natural plants.

Sergio. I have attached another photo of this painting that I took a few months ago with a bit bluer sky. If you compare the size of the painting to the houses behind it it will give you an idea about the size of it. I also took another photo by climbing onto the round rock in front of the painting. That rock comes up above my waist. Enjoy!!

Excellent Judi, what I find really interesting in here is the background, you extracted the background totally from the picture, for sure it is a different prospective and creative way, just to force the eye concentrating on the main subject, very creative, but do you have one with the original background that we can compare?! Regards,

Nice view, something different. The perspective is good, but I would have liked to see a bit better the painting.
I want to see a similar photo with a blue sky ;)

Thankyou Francesca. There are 6 of these paintings in the park around the world. We are lucky enough to have one in our town. The foliage at the base is the same foliage in my Ferity image.
