Our last trip to NYC was just 3 days short. I took tripod with me and most images were done with it help. My Oly C-750 has 10X optical zoom lens, used it at wide setting(35mm) and at full 10x(350mm equivalent). I have little experience with urban photograph. However I can give YOU couple ideas. Every lens will work well in hand of great photographer. And YOU are AWESOME one. Take your time, prepare in advance, think about places and subjects you want to capture. Look around and use your excellent eye and skills. Wide angle lenses are allowing wide views with multiple subjects, entire buildings, people and traffic in one frame. But they also distort lines. I personally don?t have much against distortion ? creating interesting angles and proportions in images. But some people don?t like this effect. Telephoto lenses are excellent to isolate subject, or close-up of entire street scene from distance without been noticed, also it?s great for architectural details!!!! Also must say that urban scenes at night are another area that I love so much! Long time exposure in city is magic. Don?t forget interior shots in bars, museums. And most important?.. HAVE FUN!
