The building is the Domo (sp?) a major architectural element in Florence (Firenze) Italy. A Polaroid transfer is basically an enlargement of a 35mm slide onto Polaroid pos/neg material. When development is just begun you peel the pos/neg apart and burnish the neg to a wet piece of watercolor paper so that the image transfers to the watercolor paper rather than the Polaroid receiver. There is a masking layer between the sheets that makes the image square, but I remove that so the chemicals and image transfer somewhat randomly. A great way to turn ordinary slides into something more interesting. There are some good books available describing the techniques: actually pretty simple though somewhat unpredictable. Requires the purchase (or use) of the enlarger unit.
