About Do you think there's too much in thispicture? I thought I created a proper balance between foreground, middle ground and background, but someone thought it was too busy. I've always admired the MF and LF images where everything is sharp from foreground all the way back, which is what I tried to accomplish here. But, as I say, someone criticized me for that very thing and I wonder if he's right or I am. Comments, please.

Everything looks good in this photo. The foreground actually helps bring it into perspective. My only critique is that your background is not level, at least to my eye. Great job.

I tried replying to you and ended up commenting on my own photo by mistake. Please see my "comment."

Thanks for the very thoughtful comment. Frankly, I liked the haze at the top right and left it in purposely.

You were very acuter in recognizing the rule of thirds, which is exactly what I started out with. If I had gotten lower, so as to go half and half, I would have lost the cloud reflection. Also, I wanted the trees in the background, so I had to do it this way - or at least so I think.

I'll review my other images from the same spot to see if I have anything more along the lines of what you suggest.

I really like the foreground and background interplay here - not too busy.

A few things to consider:
- If you have mad skills in PS you could remove the haze above the trees and water through levelling in a mask. Or a polarizer filer might help.

- Instead of rule of thirds, go half and half on the composition at the waterline, so the reflection acts as true mirror with balance.

Tight shot.
