A bit darker and moodier than the tried and true diagonal flower photo often posted here on Usefilm. Good choice and the burst of dark red on the gray really helps. Kudos on saturation.
Seems like a mixed bag on the shallow depth of field - some for and some against. I would prefer just a tad bit more to bring the full flower bulb into focus, but I like the blurry background.
What might also be interesting is if you can get out there after a gentle rain or frost and get a drop of water on the end of the flower bulb, or even some frost crystals.

Hi Helena, very good tones, and an excellent DOF. Not my favourite subject, but it did catch my aye, as it is not the standard floral we get to see every day. It has a more gloomy and ominous atmosphere, emphasised by the shallow DOF. The diagonal composition is beautiful.
