Just returned from my diving holidays. Lanzarote is a tiny little island off the west coast of Africa just besides Morraco. Very popular holiday destination among western europeans.
Its an amazing island for its volcanic landscape. The hole island is black from the past multiple erruptions from 3 major volcanoes. No greens what so ever except palm trees and cactus even though its not a desert.
It belongs to Spain from its colonial past. Lanzarote is one of the 5 small islands of Canary islands.
Cactus and palms are the commen trees and shrubs.
This is FIRE MOUNTAIN of Lanzorote. The parched red ground is permanently hot. The volcanic activity is predicted to go on for another century before cooling occurs.
Here this chap just poured a bucket of water in to the hole in the ground. Water instantly jets out in a rush as steam. Great tourist attraction.
