About The fashion of today is the fashion of yesterday. I deliberatley didnt use a reflector and wanted the darker area to the right. Reason.. Everyone uses a reflector and I wanted to be a little different :)

Great shot of your daughter...nice lighting...glad to see you didn't give in to the temptation to "fill-in". Great grab, especially with an almost wide-open lense...

Cheers,

Bill

Thanks David. your so right about light being even or natural. I did take this with a reflector also but the one I posted without was much more what I wanted LOL. Not always right but I think its important to go with the gut feeling :)

Great shot, Howie. I guess with the lighting of B&W photos, it all comes down to a matter of personal taste as far as having an even light vs having dark spots, yadayada. Lets face it, though...even light is fine and well, but it's not natural. The eye sees all these great shadows that give a scene a great mood, so why not use that? I think it's really good.

You are totaly right about not using reflector. I think that made this picture so good. I love the idea of using retro theme. Wonderful.
