Hey that's an excellent shot. Just as he is about to pull his legs forward for the stretch/land position. He reminds me of another athlete at the same meet. I love to watch him run. The sound of his breath and the vibration as his feet pound the ground....power. Awesome.

Hi Judi. Glad to hear she made it over the bar and congratulations on your success with this image. Here is my favorite track photo. It's my son Austin competing last spring in the long jump.
Originally a horizontal composition, I've cropped it to vertical to add some energy and emphasize the feeling of height. And I love his expression here. Kurt

Yes, Kurt, suprisingly enough she did make it. I actually sold quite a few of the images from this series yesterday, and this was one of them. So I am feeling pretty pleased with myself at the moment.

Big 7 here Judi, like very much the detail in young ones skin tones and such. You don't show shutter speed and such, assume it was very fast?

Excellent capture Judi. As both of my sons have competed in track (and done very well if you don't mind me bragging) I can relate to this scene very much.
The facial expression indeed says it all.
