Very smooth looking night shot, some one suggestion to use larger aperture (small no.) it is indeed for more sharpness but you get a reduction in dof, always good to try manual with different setting, I think D70 has a record parameters figures for your references, saying that this shot of great value and I do like fast shutter for lovely reflection and water freezing purpose. Aye.. we need to keep on working.. =) Ive noticed myself that every tip is good to try to use. If it dont work.. it dont.. but then one has tried atleast.. =)

Amazing capture Arwa, very sharp - even the lights in the distant look great. It must have been a lovely calm and still evening (we never get those here in the UK lol).
I love the orange tones and there is nothing that I can criticise in this at all :-)
What I might have done is play with the white balance and see what other compositions could have been made as well. Because I am useless at white balance - as I have so few indoor aquarium photos lol

Hi arwa..boats are hard night subjects, because they are always moving - even moored ones still rise up and down w/ the waves and tide, so getting them razor sharp is pretty much out of the question at 1/4 second or longer exposures. A couple of possible soultions - drop down to f/3.5 and while reducing DOF, it could still work to raise your shutter speed. Also try raising the ISO speed as well, to help boost the exposure and allow for an even quicker shutter speed.
