I would like to comment once more on your "In the Midst of Plenty", joining those who argued with you in favor of not showing the beggar's face. I think it would embarrass him/her and from the pure photographic point of view he/she would have frozen and would show an artificial expression.
Thank you, my friend, for your generous comment on my "Lonely at sunset".
Regards,
Rafi

An excellent photo of an extremely tragic situation, Dave. This is the kind of photo that made Henri one of the greatest photographers of our time.
Thank you for your comprehensive comment on my "Listening". The yound woman a was able to concentrate on what was going on in front of her because she was unaware of her photyo being taken.
Regards,
Rafi

Great shot Dave, I like how you have left out the identity of the people passing the begger, making it feel as if he or she is invisible. This works very well in B/W since it concentrates more on the feel of the photo. Alison

The hands say it all. To count our own blessings and assist those less fortunate...a good message in your image Dave. Thanks for "seeing" and having the courage to take the picture and sharing it. Regards--Bill Voizin (AND thank you for your most kind comments on my latest.)

This is a sad reality that suffer all the countries, recently I began taking many children's pictures of the street for a photographic competition that organizes the institution "Safe the Childrens" and it is truly impossible to be only a photographer facing so much pain, I have committed to help with the little thing that I can to each boy that I photograph, because they broke my heart and they are also incredibly intelligent and need a lot of love besides money. Pitifully neither I am rich and now I am without employment, but, of the many things that they lack I can always help them with something although it would be small. Excellent pic my dear friend 7+++++++++

Nice B/W candid shot. Very crisp and clear. This one could also be called where the money comes from.

Excellent shot Dave! I'm not sure i agree about showing the face! The fact that we don't see it just reminds us that this could be anyone which adds to the effect of the composite!Black and white really give an edge to the shot!Well done! and thank you for your comments :)

You're right, Rebecca, showing the face probably would be better. I do have a problem with putting someone up, recognizably, on the internet without their permission, especially if it puts them in an unkind light. It may not be good in a journalistic sense, but that's not why I'm here!
Dave.

Very nice capture. Excellent in bw. I think that seeing the face would make this better. But I'm always ashamed to put my camera up and look them in the eye. I always feel that they feel ridiculed enough, without my doing that. I can understand why anyone would choose to sneak a shot and go on.

I think we all do the best we can; sometimes things just don't work out very well. Sad. Black and white's a good choice to portray that.
