Just to give you an idea of how foul the weather was while I was waiting - and how changeable the British climate can be - here's the same shot taken about an hour before the main image :)

Hi Evelyn, thanks for your comments. In answer to your question the picture is pretty much as was taken.
I used an ND Grad filter on the camera to stop the sky from over exposing, and then the image has has been cropped everso slightly in Photoshop.
The saturation remains unchanged - as I use the "Vivid" setting on the EOS300D to get bright colours. I did however give the hue just a minor tweak to get it in the deeper green / blue range.
I may well have a stab at brightening up some of the shadow areas as you suggested )

Clouds cleared and so did the ducks? I like the composition of your shot. Was the sky really that blue and the grass that green or did you saturate the colors some? Since you are working digitally, did you try brightening up some of the shadows? Personally, I would try to add some more detail there, but that IS only an opinion. I know it could be that you tried and just liked it better this way.
