it looks like sesame seeds on top of mushrooms! I like this image a lot because of composition and details captured. Color balance is also amazing.

Hi Teunis; what a wonderful group of Amanitas! Very colororful, and unusual to find so many in a group. I like all the fall colors, the detail, and the moss underneath. A wonderful find-- thanks for posting this one. This is a common mushroom here on the Oregon Coast too, but I haven't seen any yet this fall. Cheers. Craig

Great shot Teunis...The Lapp shamans feed these mushrooms to their reindeer, then drink the reindeers' urine (poison filtered out)for their vision quests...these shamans wear red outfits fringed with white fur, give out presents at the winter solstice...some think this is where Santa Claus comes from.
