About I got to the badlands last night, got a room and headed out. Well there were winds up to 60 MPH so it was a dust storm. I had one chance left and that was this morning. Got about 20 minutes of early morning light. The badlands loop, hiway 240 is about 30 miles long. I was lucky to be about midpoint before the light was right. This is one of the shots I got. This place is unbelieveable at best. If you ever get the chance, by all means.

jim, i don't have the words... this is fantastic! beautiful light. it's a revelation when you catch it. esp. at the right place. excellent detail in both shadow and color. you can see all the wrinkles intersected by the changing color bands. really a wonderful photo. btw, i just missed out on a trip out there last spring. now you're making me regret it ;^)

take care,
tom

ps - i'm adding you to my friends list because i can't wait to see more of these.
