OK Brenda, I've found out . 19C was the code for a shed named Canklow which is apparently a suburb of Rotherham. Den

Yes Brenda, the little cast oval plates on the smokebox door showed the shedcode for the shed where the loco was based. I'm not sure offhand where 19C was, I'll look it up. Northampton was 2E, Leeds Holbeck 55A just as examples. Sorry you can't make the meet, Margaret is going to be the only female there so far. Den

Thank you for your e-mail. I took the photo at Embsay, near Skipton, North Yorkshire. There is a small railway running towards Bolton Abbey.
I hadn?t realised it was the same engine as at Haworth ? the two places are about 15 miles apart. I like to take photographs of locomotives, especially when they are in steam.
Thank you for letting me know about the meeting in Northampton on 23rd October but I will be away on holiday at that time.
Best Wishes Brenda
P.S. Do you know what the ?19C? on the smoke box means?

Lovely atmospheric shot of a "Jinty", Brenda. This loco was also in your shot of Haworth shed. There used to be a few hundred of these dotted around the country, being used on shunting duties. Oooh they were the days. Den PS If you're UK based would you be interestd in the UK UF meet in Northampton 23 October?

Very nice with the steam behind it and the Engineer looking out. It really helps to give it a sense of scale.
