About An image of my mother sitting at an outdoor restaurant with my family. She is frail and her memory is not so good, but I can still see the remnants of strength in her gaze.

Yes, Carla. They are wonderful. I try to make sure I have a camera with me at all times so that I can capture these fleeting moments. As my mother ages, I appreciate her wisdom and experience more. Thanks for the comments.

Luke, I took a stroll through your portfolio and this is what caught my eye. Beautiful portrait. Aren't Moms wonderful. Glad she allowed you to photograph her, my mother is very aware of my camera and knows how to mess up a great moment.
Regards,
Carla

I've definitely been away from Usefilm too long, can't believe I missed this posting! Luke, am in absolute awe! The unedited exposure is a great candid on it's own strengths, and your ps work is stunning on the final. The tone is absolutely striking.

Awesome work,

Isaac

Interesting portrait Luke ... I like the tones very much!

Many thanks for your comment Luke ... I love languages - English in particular - and your elaborate comment was like music to me :)

Took some digging, Kadri, but your good eye prompted me to find the original. Here it is without the perspective change, the dust and scratches taken out...everything else is the same.

Thanks, Luke, but this isn't the same shot, though, - it is another shot from the same serie!
the raw scanned version seems to me more natural (i like that out-of-focus background!), and tighter crop, - as you have made here (#1), is another approach and way to see her and her personality.

What a beautiful portrait, Luke. The softness and sepia tones make it very special.
Older people are so much more interesting to look at. Your picture reminds me that I should take some of my own mother, who is now 86. I don't want to regret that I didn't when it's too late. Thank you for posting this. :-)

A very beautiful portrait, great lighting, angle and the Hazy sepia Tone makes it look like it's from an old album. She has a lot of character in her face. Alison
