This is a powerful image thanks to the strong eye contact. The only shortfallings: i) the hard shadow cast by her face onto her shoulder. A reflector or fill-in flash is called for, or you could rely on the weather and take outdoor shots when it's slightly cloudy. ii) In my humble opinion, her knee is too tightly cropped. It is neither in nor out of the picture. I would have either cropped her legs out completely, or kept both knees in the picture for a fuller pose. Perhaps an even higher viewpoint would have allowed you to do this without her knees looking too big in the frame. Use a step ladder if you're not seven feet tall!

little too much reflection under eye,try softer material on reflector.
Excellent portrait otherwise.

Looks good Bjorn. I like the way you used the reflector to open up the shadows... but, the reflector kinda shows up on her white part of left eye... which could have been aovided, IMO.

I agree with the prev. comment about the bg. Same with the her leg... Have you done anything in the open shadow with just the reflector or fill flash with a bouncer. You would be amazed with the result. If you havent tried before try some like that.

Hey... I notice that you have used a new Digital... Did you buy one or rented? :-)

How are things otherwise at personal front?

Elangs.

Reflector is good!
In this case the background is a bit divided in two, what is distracting, only grass or the bush would be better.
But anyway she has got a nice look for the camera.
Regards menno
