Morning Jim,
Not only are the eyes closed, but they also can't hear for the first couple of days! However, their sense of smell is outstanding! I will never cease to be moved by these little ones, watching their development.

Look awefully young , eyes still closed. I always wondered why kittens, and mice , and othe small creatures are born with eyes closed. Deer , horses etc are runnign around in a couple hours.
