About Another vintage style image of mine..it is suppose to look washed-out..grain and contrast are intentional to achieve this oldstyle effect..Comments/critiques appreciated

i love this shot, Gayle. You've done an amazing job creating the look & feel of an old-fashioned photo (which i'm so drawn to!) The toning, grain & lack of contrast work really well. Great composition - i love the blown-out pieces of grass in the foreground. Great border. Beautiful. Really well done!

Thanks for comment,Thilo..sorry that the edges against the brown border is "scary" for you ;> ..it was my version of the ragged edge handmade paper we have here that gives an old style romantic look..

Dear Gayle,

very attractive rework with the soft look and the faded out colors. the only thing that looks a bit scary is the transition between the outlines of the image and the brown background. you should use a blur filter on that or the blur tool.
take care,
thilo

Ooooh Gayle this vintage style is looking like your forte. Excellent tones and perspective you chose. Like Rebecca said the corn stalks really work. wtg girl, I really love this one too.

I'd say you acheived your goal with room to spare. I think the sharp precise background rectangle makes the tattered faded photo look all the more antique. Very effective job, I'd say.

Interesting and well executed. The vintage scene matches treatment- but the dark brown ground/frame is bothersome to me.
