It was one of those tough situations, and you've captured it so nicely. I have been researching old cameras (so I can get a cheap slr), and have been looking at metering choice so I could do low light stage shots. There was a classic olympus from the mid seventies that had metered two zones of the frame. So that the sky which is allways bright in a landscape wouldn't dominate the exposure they made it so that the bottom half registered a stronger signal to the metering system. It may be in this case that if you'd taken your reading upside down it'd be more accurate!

This is beautiful Man. Shot with love. People trust you a lot I'm thinking. Have they seen it yet? It's a keeper. Is this the Olympus with the split metering system? If you don't know, which model is it I've been doing some research and wonder if this is more exposed than you'd have liked.
