Bella, anche se la composizione è un po banale, sopratutto il primo piano, insomma, un sogetto già visto, che non scuote

Nice tones, contrast, and lines. This reminds me a lot of a picture that Ansel Adams took. Shooting in the desert is difficult--heat, sand, and extreme contrast. Excellent job in capturing the every moving desert.

Thanks for all your comments and ratings.
Mark, the pic. is sharp in the foreground, but the scan could be better. Glad to read, that you know about the quality of the Yashica TLR?s - Best, Thomas

Beautifully composed, with predominantly middle to upper tonal range. Very nice. The foreground could be a lot sharper. Perhaps set at hyperfocal distance which would take care of the background as well. The 124G's are capable of a much sharper image. Not that this lacks sharpness mind you, but in this genre I tend to demand more.

well captured and well deserved award.

you created an irrational look with the great textures in the foreground (combined with the reduced midtone contrast) and the more straight planes in the background. intriguing composing. the hill in the middle adds an extra element of suspense.
two minor things: I personally would add a light frame around the image. and I'm not sure about the background part with the hints of mountains. this is tightly cropped so I would go for a gaussian blur for that part. very minor things though and very personal.
great work!
take care,
thilo

I think this is my favorite of your Dune series. The sharpness in the foreground really grabs me. The toning is beautiful.

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Fantastic contrast, good light and dark balance, and a lot of dynamic energy in the composition.

You seem to be using near/far field composition with a wide angle lens and shooting late or early in the day for side lighting. Good job.

Also props on hitting the tic-tac-toe balance in the composition.
