Paul, Other than to show some depth to the photo, the cracks have no significance whatsoever. Maybe in some of my previous work - yes but not this one. The crack are what appears on the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

Hmmm. I think I've seen that pose somewhere before... ;)
I love shadowplay, and this is very nice, Jeff. I began to ponder the symbolic notion that BOTH are 'cracked'.

No Karen, my appologies - I shouldn't post so early in the morning - too hard to think unless I have 2 cups of Starbucks myself.

Okay...slapping forehead. Don't blame me, I'm only on my second cup of coffee this morning... Now that you have explained it(even though it was right there in front of me in the description), I understand it now. Was the first day of school today for my oldest, so I've got kids on my mind...
Again, I must say a lovely image~

Karen, I'm afraid you missed two points -
Point 1: The smaller hand on top is a woman's hand signifiying how woman has touched me and the woman should always be above as far as I'm concerned.
Point 2: You are one of the two women this image was meant for and has touched me deeply
The background is actually taken from Leonardo Da Vinci's Sistine chapel and the hand pose was copied from the Sistine Chapel also.

This is really a lovely image Jeff-I like the cracks it really adds to the image. Just one small suggestion...the hand at the top of the image looks smaller than the one at the bottom of the image-what I'm trying to say is that maybe by flipping this upside down it would make more sense as a child is smaller than a grown up. Still its very touching image~
