Jim, I found the image from your posts you were referring to and I understand what you mean. Your work is quite good!! In this case the person on the rock was not with me and when I saw him there I quickly fired away to get something. He came down 10 seconds after I shot it.
Cool shot, but I'm not sure most people would know its Yosemite if you didn't tell them. I recognize that viewpoint, but I don't know that many others would. I like that you're including someone taking in the view, but they're a little too far in the shade to be seen as clearly as the rest of the scene. It's tough to pick your spots and have a natural setup with someone looking, but I'm not sure the trees to the left are helping your image much. If you were to catch this person taking in the view with a better backdrop I think your image would have more impact. I have an image titled "taking in the view" and you can see what a difference an unhindered view can have. Keep posting. I'm looking forward to seeing more Yosemite photos.
