I don't think the guy ever sent it to any festivals - he was well short of funds in college....

I did not do anything to do with the camera on American Beauty - I just found all the locations and managed them for the filming, that's all..... I did, however, get to drive around in the same van with Sam Mendes and the late (and great) Conrad Hall....

I did.... cos it was an adaptor that was attached to the end of a regular short zoom, and it made the peep-hole effect so nicely when I zoom it all the way out......

I can sort of do it with my new lens on the Nikon, but it's not quite the same.....

When Minolta comes out with their DigiSLR this year, I just might grab that too and do it all over again......
