Great shot Rebecca, I have wanted to get a shot just like this. Every time I go over the tracks I think about it. I might just have to go out today and snap one. Thanks for the Inspiration. Stuart

Great b&w perspective shot, my friend. Excellent work with your new camera. If you had tilted over onto your tush, I bet you would have snapped another shot at that lower angle.

Al ver la miniatura temí ver una foto monótona y aburrida.
Nada mas erroneo que mi presuposición.
Es estraordinaria

This is really nice, Rebecca! I love long perspective lines that disappear into the distance like these rails, and the crispness of the foreground really gives it a wonderful immediacy - I feel as though I could reach out and touch the sharp gravel! (I have a similar shot in my portfolio that I took back in the 70's) I have to say I wasn't sure about the washed out sky at first - it seemed too bright. But after looking at it for a while I realize that it works nicely with the slight haziness in the trees to convey a kind of muggy summery day. BTW, I see you came across my sister's photos (Alison DeLeo), and left some very kind words about me! I'm very flattered - thank you!

Super shot Rebecca! Nearly sat on your tush? Is that a camera accessory? :-) Regards Steve.

Very creative title; the train to nowhere springs to mind too, when I look at this shot. On the other hand, the shortest stretch between two points is a straight line, and that's (almost) exactly what you captured here. On the other hand, if you had such a slight deviant in your course from here to the moon, you would end up completely in the void... And a looooong way from home... ) Very interesting combination between title and photo. Excellent shot!
Cheers,
Hugo

Excellent DoF. They seem to go on forever. The silver sheen on the rails is truly wondrous and it doesn't give out further down the line. Great wood and rock texture. Fantastic. It seems I am not the only one who squats to take pictures, huh. Haha, I can just picture you almost falling over. What a hoot. See this is why my husband insists I take a cell phone with me when I wander off to take pics. You never know what can happen. There Rebecca lay, on the tracks but what a pic she took!!!!!

This is one of the best! Beautiful tones. The haziness of the trees in the background add so nicely to the sense of distance. Nice camera angle too, though hard on the knees.

Just the fact that you wanted to rate it a 7 makes it OK in my book! lol Thanks Gayle ( don't tell anyone that I was squatting on the tracks and ALMOST fell back and sat on my tush though!)
