I would say the softness is simply bad technique, by no means desired at the time of shooting :-)

You are getting better and better creating mood in your pictures.. like this one.. it's like form a movie, the toning and softness is great.

Mathew I noticed the bottle too but really like how the sepia tone dignifies this everyday image and the for me bottle is kind of elevated, as well, by it.

Personally I'm not very fond of this image. I've been told by someone I trust that it's nice, so I put it up to get further feedback, and it seems to have been well received. But to me, it still doesn't really say anything. Having said that, it's very interesting to read everyone's thoughts and interpretations.

Hey, Matej... My 6 year old loves this shot, as do I. I love the water drops in the sink - makes it look used. If I might risk a comment on a BIP shot, I don't that white bottle behind the sink. I don't have a problem with the cutting board Christian mentioned, though. It provides a point of focus for the shot. Regards Matt

Hi Matej, Love this shot. A very recognisable piece of every day life.... ) Good choice of the wide angle lens, too, it places the scene a very fitting perspective. As if you're entering the kitchen the next morning after a good night of fun. The mess always seems larger than you remember. I like this one. And guess what? You've been BIP-ed!
Cheers,
Hugo

I like the distorted angle following that of the sink on the left. The toning is pleasant. I'm not that attracted though by the well lit board that ends the perspective a little too abruptly.

You have printed this image well. At first the missing central point of interest bothered me a little, but actually I think it works well for the subject. Maybe if you can introduce a little more detail on the RHS to balance with the left this could be an advantage. Though I do like it as it is. all the best John. p.s. you must enter into The APUG Photo Challenge http://www.apug.org/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/508/password/

hello Matej :-) you know i'm a fan of wide angles myself,so it's easy for me to like the perspective in this image. the lighting gives a nice mood to this kitchen scene, and the slow shutter speed blurs the picture in an appealing way. enjoy your new camera and lens! bye kostas
