I'm not sure this is the strongest of images, but I can see there are about a dozen subjects on or around that fallen stump. As is your image is that of a fallen tree stump in the water. It is centered, there are highlights from the reflection of the sky at the top portion of the image and you have drooping branches from another plant in the upper right. These are qualities that don't enhance your viewers experience or challenge your viewer when taking in your image. Yet I can see on the stump there is a growth of blue & green moss, there are fresh mushrooms popping up, around the stump there is great texture and reflection. All of these items themselves could make for an interesting image. Zooming in if at all possible and focusing on these elements would take this high level view of a fallen tree and make up a more specific granular image. Even if you can not zoom in too much more getting a tighter shot of the bark and it's reflection in the water would an option. Hopefully thinking about a picture with in a picture will help you the next time you're out and see this type of subject.
