There's nothing about this image I don't like. First of all there's so much to look at. The drilling platform looks like some misbegotten triptych of skyscrapers hovering over the middle of the ocean. The crash of rocks and water in the foreground are a reminder of nature's power and a possible foreshadow of a fate that can befall anything made by man. The grain is perfect, it adds a gritty feel to the whole enterprise. And then there's that blast of light immediately above and spreading out from the platform that makes it seem as if the heavens have opened and the whole shooting match is about to make an acension. Cool.

The more I look at your work the more I want to see. Great stuff! Cheers.

Yes my angel but it is not more frightening than looking in our soul's mirror...we deserve to know the truth...
When we exhibit a photo we exhibit ourselves...

Hey Mary,
it's frightening what a picture tells you about his creator...isn't it?
Cheers! Carlheinz

Now I know you like industrial i can better understand your photos...
This is Industrial Romanticism....I can see this inclination in you... The building in the distance is what a couple could look instead of the typical sunset...
Amazing work...many 7777...

Hi Carlheinz! Fantastic shot mate! An awesome blend of natural beauty and a modern monstrosity!
You're right about it being facinating and frightening at the same time....to which I would add beautiful and ugly at the same time.
Well done!
Cheers
Alan

powerful composing, bro. like the color ;-)
a tad dark (at least at my monitor), but strenghtens the mood a lot. fine placement of horizon and the rig. hey, and I like to buy the film you mentioned =) must be a new brand. cheers, thilo

Very well done -- nothing I would change re: this image. You even caught the wave just right...read your comment regarding cropping and I agree "in camera" is the way to go...(although I admit that sometimes I crop a smidge) Kev
