Cindi, you have done it again. The child appears to be on the treshold between light and darkness and so focused on the meaning of life. A lot of depth to this picture - both lighting-wise and emotionally. You are certainly preserving life's moments in a profound and original way. Cheers, Leora.

I like children photography that gives you a hint of the more mature person that lies ahead. Pose, light and the inclusion of the shadow does just that for me here.

Great use of lights and shadows, his expression and pose are very good, the B/W tones are excellent, I?m not sure about the frame, I would have emphasized the shadow on the right, cropping out the left part of the photo, but in this way you should have changed the title ;) Max

WoW, very fine tones, dear Cindi.
I like the lighting very much. Very plastic and fine pic. Great composition with the extreme contrast between the sides. Compliments from Hungary. 7 Cheers, Radák PS.: Thanks for your kind comment. I ment the originality, if the pic modified or not, because i usually publish unmodified, uncropped pics. May be the word usage was not the best, sorry for it! ).

Hi Cindi, I have scuitinised this shot for a few times before commenting, as I find the atmosphere and tension of this shot quite hard to assess. Aesthetically, a very powerful shot and very well balanced composition. There are quite a few contrasting things in this photo:
First of all, the striking light and the schadow could be perceived as ominous and ghostly, quite unfitting the expression of the boy.
Then that expression. In a way, I see the innocense as a child, posing toughly, and on the other hand, he looks quite aware of his wrongdoings.
The lighting and exposure are perfect, and I find the "conflicts" I perceive astonishing and very appealing. Great shot. Simple, but mesmerising.... Very well captured!
Cheers,
Hugo
