since there is no way to e-mail this to you, i'll write it here:
i've been 'lurking' in usefilm for a year, but just recently started posting. as a result, i have followed a few of the photographers on here and some have become my 'faves'. but *you* jay gumm are my absolute fave, maybe of any photographer i've seen ever. the feeling i get when i look at your photographs is 'yes, exactly', like this person understands like i understand. so, when i read your bio, i felt terribly saddened. anyways, hope you get over that 'blah' period and never stop taking photographs. :)

Dammit Jay, you better take that bio blurb off your front page because if this is mechanical I'd friggin hate to see you totally pumped and on your game.
This is a brilliant, wierd, funny, bizarre image overflowing with symbol and darkness. There's an odd gentleness in the the hands cradling the doll that contrasts with the rest of this beautifully disturbing image.
Jay, your mind teems with ideas like maggots swarming a carcass. Just when I thought there wasn't much left you could do to surprise me you serve up this amazing image. Your work is fresh, dark and infinitely unsettling. Don't stop.

Absurdly hilarious, or disturbingly horrific--this feels like a freeze frame from some vivid fever dream. Id love to see it in color, though here its starkness gives it a mood color might stain.

There may be too many simbols into this image. That makes it heavy? Contradictions cross my mind while looking at it. I can choose seeing it with fun and humour or I can see much more into it - that makes me change previuos perspective. I really don't know which i preffer at this point.
