Hi John, another great image from Blueskin Bay. I envy your opportunities to get out on and around the peninsula. It is a treasure trove of subjects i'm sure. Nice lighting here, well done. I liked your comment about the G3 - as you know i have a similar set up - G5 and F100. Would like to upgrade to a D70 or D100, need some money though :)

Hi Sean, thanks for your interest and comments. The only filters I use now are a polarizer and either a 1 or 2 stop gray grad. All the other work is done in Photoshop. I use numerous layers and colour fill layers, then adjust the blending mode and opacity for each layer untill I get the effects I want.
I started using Photoshop CS when it was first released. The ability to work in 16 bit is great. I can do much more without getting degredation or banding in my images.
I have ben really impressed with the little Canon G3. I have not used my F5 or F100 for over a year now. I will upgrade to a digital SLR when the Nikon D2X or Fuji S3 are released.

Hi John,
Your portfolio is full of such beautiful landscape photography of NZ. I was on the South Island only very recently and wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments that it is one of the special places in the world.
This is another spectacular shot. I love the use of the wide angle lens to create a surreal ratio of sky to land. The colours certainly make this a stand out photo - I'd love to know whether they were obtained with a filter etc?
