dear jeff, how are you and how is my lovely mickey? i must admit you have done quiet well in your attempt. though not very much interested in motorcycles, but this is indeed very brilliant photo, and lighting is great. make me to consider my feelings about motorcycle. there can be beauty in every thing, even in hard hand made object!

Great work. Technique isn't too difficult but it does require patience. "Extract" has been compared to Knockout. If you have PS 6 you can try it. http://www.creativepro.com/story/review/15464.html
Regardless you did do a great job.

Well done Jeff, congratulations! I normally use the same method that Den Thompson suggest and I can say that works well. Best wishes, Felipe.

Hey Jeff, great work, it looks very impressive. I notice you say it's laborious in PS. Don't know how you did it but this is how I'd go about it.
1. First open a new background.
2. Open your desired image.
3. Go to Filter, Extract. Select a brush size approx 15 - 20. Make sure "Smart Highlighting" is checked.
4. Draw around the image required.
5. Once the outline is complete (make sure no gaps) select the fill bucket and click inside the outline and say OK
6. The cut out is then shown on a transparent background and can be dragged on to the background you first opened.

Some tidying up may be required with the eraser depending on the contrast of the subject/dicarded background.

Hope this is of assistance and I'm not teaching you to suck eggs. In case of ? my e-mail is Denthompson8@aol.com.
Have fun.
Den

Right, it's very difficult but I can see you did a great job here. I wonder how you exactly did it. Did you use magic wand tool and then the option "delete"? Or did you use the poligonal lasso around the edges?
This is a pretty good elaboration but....you forgot to crop out the white par on the rear
Nevertheless, very cool work. I like this photo more than the previous one.
The Ducati is a beauty, love the colour. Really awesome bike

Hi Alan!...Yes it's the Cutout!...I believe there is an Addin for PS...Called Knockout!,,I would Like to Find Some one Who uses it...Since Ps is Very Laborious, and Not the Best Way to Cutout!....Thank you For your Comment, Alan! I appreciate it!...Jeff!!!
