Mark Forgive me - I have only just seen this comment you made days ago.
Thank you for the detailed list. It made me look at the image with "new eyes". I didn't realise that this image had so many pleasing factors and I thank you for making me look at it again.
You are not only an ecouragement to me, but you will be playing a factor when I go out shooting again. At first all I did was try to capture something - that is fairly in focus. As I started gaining confidence, I am now much more aware of what will end up in the final image. I don't always get it right though but as long as this stays fun for me, I will continue to strive to do better.
Thanks again Mark - you will never know how much I appreciate this.
Linn

The selective focus on the two flowers create the illusion of depth in three-dimensions. The background is in soft focus, and I can sense texture in its own illusion. It's very original. The lighting is that very uniform, even quality. So many nice details, too, like the three buds in the lower right, and the subtle and intricate foliage. You did a great job here, Linn.

And pink you shall have! Beautiful composition in this one with the center of attention well focused and the all the pinks flowers as a back ground. Also, the dof is just right. Regards, Jimmy

Lori, the only black you are allowed to use is on the frame Don't you dare show anything but the stunning shades of pink on "our" rose :-)
You could do a PS jobbie and multiply the images - as long as you leave it pink, pink, pink :-)

Hi Linn, Glad to hear your favorite color isn't pink! LOL 'the rose' right now doesn't look much different than yesterday, by later this afternoon it should be opened more, so I'll give it 4 more hours or so. Don't know what different thing I'll do with it today, maybe I should make it black?? LOL I don't know, I'll come up with SOMTHING! Lori
ps. I know what you mean about the names of flowers, half the time I don't know the names either!

Pink my favourite colour? Naw, not at all Gosh Lori, I can't go a day without seeing pink! And no, my house is NOT pink and neither are my clothes :-))) But a pink flower is simply irrisistable to me. When I visit nurseries (for images) I am always drawn to the pinks and have to force myself to turn to the blues, yellows and reds.
This flower ... well ... I had a hard time with it. I didn't want the closed one stuck inside the open one but it wouldn't budge It kept on jumping back into the open flower.
I also have not seen this kind of "daisy" before. I will be going back to this nursery and will make a note of the name. This is where I am bad - I should carry a notebook with me so that I can at least sound half intelligent and name the flower But it is a weird and beautiful flower - kinda messed up, as if it didn't know what it wanted to be :-) That's OK with me - as long as it stays pink :-)
How is my rose doing?

I have a feeling that pink is your favorite color!??
This is a gorgeous photograhp, Linn! Such a good job on composition. I LOVE how you have the partially open flower's stem peeking through the petals of the main flower! I don't recall seeing a flower quite like this, is it in the mum family? Daisy family? Love the middles with the swirling petals.
Very nice work, Linn Lori :)

i have this book called "color power" by philippa merivale, lots of nice stuff written about people who like pink " pink people are sensitive, warm and kind: generous almost to a fault. They have keen intuition, pink people respond warmly to children, animals and to all sensitive creatures?bla bla bla?.pink people r also loving and empathetic and have naturally calming and restoring effect on people around them" it?s a fun book try and get it ;)
and the pic is nice 7/7
