Given good weather, England must be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It has found a worthy photographer of record in you, Chris. You'd go mad trying to clone out the overhead cables in Japan, though. Old earthquake-related laws force almost ALL cabling to go overhead, so it's a jumble up there.

You are so right....I am always envious when I see those countryside photographs. And there are SO MANY OF THEM here. I NEVER tire of seeing them. We just aren't very photogenic here, and ordinary house compared to everywhere else!
This is very nice Chris, I was curious about the roof, is this one that grows grass/something?? Kind of looks like it, but not sure!
So glad you are on Usefilm!!! Lori :)

You are so right Chris. This really is a beautiful part of the world and I am glad you share this with us! Here in The Netherlands we also have beautiful places and typical Dutch houses, some of them very old, but it is always so interesting to see the architecture of other countries. This looks so romantic! Wow... if I could only live in a house like that! Greetings, Diana. (I will post a picture of one of my favorite "Dutch" houses here.)

We had a nice chat with the lady who owns this cottage ~ she was painting some of the window frames at the front of the house. The new thatch was finished just two weeks ago ~ that's why it looks so new. This is a wonderfully picturesque corner of Dunster ~ apart from all the telegraph poles and overhead cables of one kind and another. To give you some idea of what I had to get rid of, here's the original?

Chris, when I returned from my USA trip, I had a 8 hour layover in London. A Ragdoll breeder friend and her husband came to pick me up so that I could spend the time with them in their countryside home. Though I was almost out on my feet from lack of sleep, I still remember the dreamy cottages and narrow winding roads of their village - the name which escapes me, sorry. Seeing your images it takes me back to that day with it's few precious hours in London, and for that I thank you :-) Linn

Thanks Stephen. I was in Cullompton just a couple of weeks ago for a friend's wedding. There's plenty of great places to shoot a few pic's in a short distance of there. You can get to the coast in around 30-40 minutes and Dartmoor isn't that far away. Also Exmoor where I've been today. Kind regards, Chris
