i think Stefan?s right, Fabio. the concept works here. i understand that you are struggling to capture an idea, a concept, an objective using means that may or may not be ideally suited to the task. i have seen some ultra sharp images lately in museums and magazines. The detail makes me bite my knuckle with envy and covetousness. But they?ve all been done with large format cameras. Hell, the negatives are HUGE. And film has all that resolution that digital cameras in the price range of most consumers just don?t have. But we work with what we have. We push our cameras to do all sorts of improbable things. Sometimes they?re up to the task our demanding minds put to them, sometimes they arn?t. But we try, don?t we? Good luck with your series, Fabio. i?m curious to see more. :)) kat-

the idea to this treatment I got some time ago seeing pictures from shomei tomatsu: incredibly sharp and detailed stillifes of simple surfaces (or dead flies arranged). of course, he is a master in this art (and with a far better analog cam and an expert in film treatment). I'm just trying to learn from him, as from others, sometimes.

trauer ist mit großem schmerz verbunden und sehr oft mit dem gefühl, dass die vertraute welt in stücke zersprungen ist. dazu passt keine weichzeichnung. die überschärfung ist angemessen.

oooohh, ok, Fabio! i would never think to sharpen pixels an image to this degree....interesting treatment. Have you tried printing it? If so, how did it turn out? i'm curious because generally when i get this much contrast or pixel detail i don't pursue the image. kat~

no, kathleen: this is intentional the original was exactly too soft for my purpose (the next picture will be even more over sharpened and whirling I hope:)

Did somebody say "ordered chaos"? Reminds me of globular stellar clusters, or elliptical galaxies, or a new breed freely mixed between the two :-) Content is probably more important than technical quality of the image in this case... Faces too.

Fabio, it likes like a universe swirling through space but a closer inspection reveals all those tiny tiny white buds. On my screen, the image is very contrasty and the flowers are overexposed with no detail. The whole image is so crisp i can practically count each pixel. Do you think you overdid it just a little bit with the contrast slider? I love the shot, i love the ordered chaos, (Stefan? are you listening? :)) and the colors but the quality isn't really up to your normal standards, IMO. Best regards: kat~

:)
