You know,Bertram,this lens is the old one like yours....cheap but great! I bought also the new one Canon mount for the Eos 30 as I think it's great when you don't want to be loaded with gear or when you travel in dangerous places and fear to be robbed...
For this photo I didn't even use the tripod as I should have,still it came out quite clear!

Antonella, this is a really perfect macro, and it is a wonderful photograph. Top work !!
Isn't it great what an incredible performance this cheap lens shows ? I own it (the older, bigger one, not the XR) too for Nikon since four years and I found it's macro performance satisfying even for slides with Provia 100.

Hi Antonella
IMO, you have captured a flower that could be difficult to photograph, in a very precise and revealing manner. Your image shows the core of the flower beautifully; and the difficult petals embrace it in a composed manner. I think you have done great with this image. Well done.
