This Lutheran Church had a very bright "dove" window design.If I lit the alter with conventional strobes or floods .. it would spoil the spill light.We also wanted to retain the warm rich woodwork. ... Using a 4x5 view camera..I made an initial exposure of 1/30sec.@ f.8 ....then opened the lens wide@"t" ...using a hand held 150watt flood .. starting from left to right.. painted the walls..ceiling with light ... keeping the flood moving.. with a final splash on the alter.... closelens.
Bill, this is a remarkable photo. I must admit, I have not idea (even with your explanation), how you did this...but it is an artist eye, that can envision something, such as this, and then follow through. I would love to see how this photo would look in color...Gloria
