About I was photographing something else in the opposite direction using a tripod and slow shutter speeds when I saw a group of bikers passing behind me. I spontaneously grabbed the camera without dismounting it from the tripod, turned around with the setup in the air and shot this frame. The panning is far from perfect but I like the effect and the sweet afternoon light.

Hi Kostas, Very dynamic shot.... Now I see what you mean by your comment about my fill flash experiment. This is a completely different league, much more dynamic. Obviously, taste may differ, and I think this is a bit much for me, but it's immensly dynamic, and very well handled. Great shot!

Cheers,

hugo

Creative and great. I must admit I got inspired by your nightrides, and last few nights I was driving around Warsaw with camera in my hand.. :) I will try to pick something to show here... Regards, Irena

thank you all,my friends :-))

Matej: I can't really explain the panning effect.I don't think the bikers were travelling at different speeds

Todd: the photo I took just before this one was surely below 1/30sec ;-)

as i have come to expect Sir Kostas, your photo is fantastic. it is creative and very interesting to look at. i like the pattern the background has formed, and the little blurry guys on the bikes are great. i fear you are lying to us about your shutter speed though. naughty naughty :P

Panning with the tripod and all? Perhaps your tripod isn't heavy enough ;-) Were they travelling at different speeds? I ask because the biker on the right is blurred so much more than the one on the left.
