Well Ellen...As usual...an absolutely great composition. They way you use the lines in the image to not let the viewer 'drop off' the bottom right corner is just perfect. Do you tend to crop your images or do you get it this right in the camera? )Jamey

Hi Ellen, Beautiful scene, and I absolutely like the diagonals and angles of the lines. I like the slight haze, adding a very "Dutch" atmosphere. I agree with Dorine about the contrast and details of the basaltblocks; I too think they could use some more definition. The straws of reed in the foreground are, as usual, very effective. Excellent compostition and mood. My compliments,

Hoi zus, Deze foto mist wat vind ik, een mooi bewolkte lucht bijvoorbeeld. Of vanuit deze positie zou je bijvoorbeeld de basaltblokken met wat meer detail prominenter in de voorgrond kunnen zetten, dan krijgt de foto ook meer diepte.

sketched...shaded.. sepia... subjective array of lights. The little components of this picture are distracting.... the notion of lighthouses without colors presents many facets to understanding fundementals in artistry... a reason lighthouses are such a favorite no? Regards.
