My best guess is that if he shoots at 1600 ISO, then the faster film allows him to use a smaller aperture, thereby increasing his depth of field. Of course, the 'orthodox' method for doing this is by increasing exposure time, but maybe he didn't have a tripod handy...

HI Kevin,

This photograph is absolutely OUTSTANDING! You either live in a gorgeous area or go traveling a lot! I like every single thing in 'moor tree' is perfect; RIGHT ON! So I don't need to elaborate on it! LOL ...well, one small thing, I really like those long sprouts of grass that are golden! PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks for leaving that gorgeous print next to 'me'...and also for your generous remarks! I look forward to seeing your photograph displayed tomorrow!

Lori ;)

I'm so glad you think this is worthy to be put into the "your best photograph" project. I like it so very much better than photos that show more signs of hard work. I know I couldn't have passed this tree without photographing it, but I salute your perfect capture of it. Truly gorgeous. It has a tremendous sense of presence and exquisite colours.

Somebody's experimenting with high ISO and grain. Another fantastic shot. It's amazing how little grain there is even at 1600! Love it. Lou

The zone transitions across the image, from greens to golds, to blues, is just lovely.
I'm curious, though...why shoot at ISO 1600 in full sun?
