About the evidence of her enjoyment is still on her face... My youngest daughter. I tried Duotone with PS, used Pantone 1225C and Black to get the tone effect. Would be intrested in hearing other techniques. Regards, Bill C.

She is a pretty little girl. Like the tone and portrait. Now lets see first question the shoreline on the lake picture is it. On the next one I noticed that the lightness the next day or so when I looked at it again. Images look different on any monitor at different parts of the day with the lighting. Just like lighting in photography the lighting when your working on the edit is important. I think I blew it myself on that edit for it looked different. I hardly use the dodge tool I found something I like better and that is the history brush. On an image you need to lighten in some places I make a copy of that image and sceen or curves or levels bring the image into where the dark areas are light. Then I paint back the areas in with the history bush thus you have your blue skies and darker contrast back where you want it. I shoot a lot in manual when I use my tri-pod so I can set my contrast the way I want and with the filters get the result I like in most light conditions.

I love the tones here and the lighting and shallow dof as well. Nice crop, and the angle of her head and expression work very well for a great child portrait.

Well the tones you created are wonderfull, I like them. I don't know a lot about toning in PS but you could ask Mariah Meneere she knows some thing about it.
Good photo.
Greets Tim.
