Ellen - I looked through your portfolio, and this shot does not match the wonderful quality of your other work. In this shot, I believe the bird is much too small, basically nothing more than a shape without any discernible detail. It is also overpowered by the tangle of branches, especially the one in front of it.
Sometimes the results don't match the effort made to get a shot. The rest of your work is very good, and this shot simply doesn't match the standard you set with your other images. I certainly hope this doesn't sound harsh, but I thought you'd appreciate an honest appraisal rather than a "good shot" comment. Of course, this is just my opinion, and others may disagree, but that's how the shot struck me.
