When I arrive the first time in Asia I realize how little Europeans know about Asian culture. This picture was taken outside the Kuala Lumpur twin towers, they used to be tallest buildings in the world. Side by side this architectural wonder, tradition still stands, as strong as the towers itself. A malay friend also added this to this picture. "A fresh perspective to this observation of a group of girls dressed in the 'tudong' or headscarf .Uniformly and conservatively dressed, the prevalence of the religious headscarf or 'hijab' by Asian women which amply covered the hair and chest only caught on in the last decade or so. Contrary to popular belief, the Malay women folk did not have a long tradition of wearing the 'hijjab'. Instead, traslucent or floral shawls were the norm for modest dressing typically for religious or festive occasions. "
very beautiful. the tones of the "tudongs" are very nice. I especially like the grouping...very sweet. the background white awning (?) emphasizes the group. nice work. I don't find travel photography easy...I need to know how the light shifts during the day. You, on the other hand, are posting beautiful images.
Great lighting, and subject. If would be fun to take this group of women from different angles to get even more of a sense of their surroundings. The toning is beautiful!
