Good thing you took the photo before the champagne! Did you try lying down beneath the rock, tempt fate? Nice pastel colors.

Carol; you must have taken this BEFORE the bottle of champagne;>)? -- great subject, and you handled exposure very well for an essentially backlit rock-- nice composition too. Thanks for showing this. Cheers. Craig

Carol, Great composition and excellent job of handling a difficult exposure- you managed to maintain shadow detail in the foregreound rocks without overexposing the sky. The bottle of champagne was well deserved. Looking forward to another year of great photos. Regards, David

Good shot. Try using your image editing soft ware to bring some more exposure to the rocks so that there is a little more texture visible.

that is a very good shot Carol, the colors are just great. We have a national park out here in oz that has lots of rocks like this due to an underground volcano zillions of years ago. Then the earth disappeared to revel these rock sculptures like this well similar...regards roger

Amazing shot. The view through the "window" is spectacular as well. Nicely captured.
