fabulous dreamscape...
Call of the Wild
I struggle to hold the collar and prevent loneliness from racing down the street howling and knocking over garbage cans.
Neighbors will wake, the police will arrive and chase him into the woods. Starving, he will tear off the hand that feeds him and flee to the arctic, find a cave, hibernate for the winter. After the Chinook, he will gorge on isolation, grow fat on quiet nights. Memories will fade and he will listen to nothing but the utterances of wind and rain.
The leash cuts my circulation; one by one my fingers uncurl.
I don't comment on all work this way - you bring out the deeper responses... sorry if it is tedious...

A haunting photo. I can hear the whispering of the long grass, the creaking of the gnarled tree, and the eye is drawn along the path into the distance where the clouds suggest trouble brewing...
Brilliant.
